We built this outdoor classroom for the to run conservation groups with children and adults. The Ecominds wildlife garden is just next door, so the classroom is used regularly as a teaching space, somewhere to shelter from the rain, build fires and cook the lovely organic produce from the garden. The outdoor classroom is made from larch, douglas fir, oak and yew, all from within 50 miles of the site. The Ecominds volunteers came to our workshop in Sheffield to help peel the logs for the frame building, and also helped to erect the frame. So learning can happen during the build as well as inside the new classroom!
